Fredrika Rei
Electronic soulful pop inspired by the inner and outer world, space and dinosaurs. Singer, songwriter, storyteller and searcher – with a background in musical theatre and as a vocalist in a big band, Fredrika Rei is now giving us her perspective.
Based in Stockholm, Fredrika grew up in Finland and Belgium. She is trained in musical theatre, song and piano, has a legal degree and worked as a lawyer for a number of years and is currently studying music production.
She released her first self-produced single "100 years old" in 2022 and it garnered much positive feedback online. Appreciation has especially been focused on her vulnerable lyrics and spacious sound. Since then, she has moved further towards an electro pop sound with singles such as "Ghost town", "MAGIC (featuring James Wilson)" and the late-summer banger "So It Goes", picked as one of the best songs of the year by music blog Vakentimmar. Then came her most bombastic song yet, "The Human Experience", a dramatic disco-tale currently playing on Finnish radio, and finally she kicked off 2024 with "Sparkle Sparkle Little Star", a beautiful electronica gem that landed her her first spot on an editorial Spotify playlist (Suomi-indie tänään).
Her debut EP "less depression, more dancing", including all the singles from the past year, plus crowdpleaser "think about", was released in February 2024.

Not one for taking it easy, she's already back with a bang as her new single "lose my cool" headed straight to Finnish radio and New Music Friday in all the Nordic countries. A romantic drum n bass banger about losing yourself in someone. A taste of what's to come on the second EP that she's currently working on.

Rei comes from the expression Panta Rei which means that everything flows, everything changes. Fredrika Rei's music will keep moving in any direction the river takes. Swim along.
